Richard Van Pelt, President

With over 25 years of diversified construction experience, Mr. Richard Van Pelt started Van Pelt Construction Company in 1995 in order to provide the highest quality, hands-on service that he is known for and committed to. He values the strong relationships that he has built through the years, especially with some his banking clients, such as Bank One, American National Bank, Citibank, World Savings Bank, and Second Federal, to name a few.

Educated at the University of Illinois and IIT, Mr. Van Pelt began his career as a field representative for Public Service in the state of Indiana, overseeing the general contractor of a nuclear power plant. Shortly thereafter, he joined Gerhardt F. Meyne Company, where he rose through the ranks over 14 years to become vice president. Within that role, he oversaw a range of commercial, industrial, institutional, and health care projects.

After moving on from there, he served as a project director for Novak Construction company where he handled everything from pre-construction to post-construction, from scheduling and estimating to overseeing subcontractors on a multitude of commercial, retail, and industrial projects. His project experience is vast, as is his construction knowledge, and his commitment to his firm is unfailing.
